What this application does
When somebody submits the quote-request form on the Lomax Window & Door Co. website, the submission is stored in a database and a notification is sent to the Lomax team so they can follow up.
This application is the part that sends that notification. It runs on a server, without anybody signed in. It has no user interface, no sign-in page and no public endpoint of its own.
How notifications are sent
Two notifications go out, to Lomax staff only:
- Email, through Twilio SendGrid
- Sent to a Lomax staff address. It carries the inquiry: name, email address, telephone number, postcode, the service asked about, an internal reference and a timestamp.
- Text message, through Twilio
- Sent to a single Lomax staff telephone number configured by the operator. It carries less than the email does — only the name, telephone number, the service asked about and the internal reference.
The two are sent independently, so a failure in one does not stop the other. The inquiry is stored in the database before either is attempted, and a notification failure never discards it.
Who the messages go to
Only to Lomax staff. The service does not email or text website visitors, customers, or any address or number submitted through the form. It sends no marketing, promotional or bulk messages, and there is no public sign-up of any kind.
Because no message is ever sent to a member of the public, there is no subscription to join and nothing for a visitor to opt out of.
Who is responsible
Lomax Window & Door Co. is the business responsible for inquiries submitted through its website. The inquiry details belong to Lomax, and Lomax decides how they are used and how long they are kept.

The service is built and run for Lomax by an authorized technical service provider engaged by Lomax. The provider acts on Lomax's instructions and handles inquiry information only to deliver the service described here. It does not own Lomax's customer information, does not use that information for its own purposes, and does not sell, rent or share it.

Information handled
The notifications contain the details a visitor typed into the quote-request form. That is personal information about a real person, and the privacy policy describes exactly which fields are involved, where they are stored and who receives them.
